Boehmeria cylindrica

A plant of low, wet ground. Similar in appearance to Urtica, but harmless.

Pistillate and staminate flowers near Griffy Lake, 8/29/03. The staminate flowers include the one with obvious stamens at right, the pistillate flowers are the smaller, less distinguished structures.
