The Little Hatchet Mts. are a small range of mixed rock types, mostly igneous. I've only been to Granite Pass, on the south end of the Little Hatchets, which I visited for a few hours on the 13th of November, 2004. On that trip I'd been hoping to end up getting into the south end of the Peloncillos, but roads were impassable because of rain.

Granite Pass, looking southeast. The mountain poking through on the right is Big Hatchet Peak in the Big Hatchet Mts. Dusk, 13 Nov 2004.
