Abronia villosa var. villosa

I've only seen this plant at Mohawk Dunes, east of Yuma, Arizona. It's common in dune areas throughout southwestern Arizona and southeastern California, and is distinguished from var. aurita by having shorter flowers & fruits that are strongly rugosely veined.

Inflorescence at Mohawk Dunes, 2/27/05.
