Acleisanthes lanceolata (Wooton) R.A.Levin

A subshrub of gypseous clay. Common at White Sands. The yellow flowers are open at night and most often seen wilted during the day. Cleistogamous flowers are also frequently produced, even further reducing one's chances of seeing flowers open & in their full glory.
