Campanula rotundifolia

A plant with a large range over surprisingly diverse habitats. In New Mexico, I've only seen it at Bluff Springs in the Sacramento Mts., where it occupies dry, grassy slopes.

A flower at Bluff Springs, 7/4/05. Like some other Campanula, such as Campanula americana, this species is odd in that the terminal flower open first though otherwise the flowers open from the bottom of the inflorescence up.
