Elymus trachycaulus (Link) Gould ex Shinners subsp. trachycaulus
A common montane species in New Mexico, also found throughout much of the United
States. It is similar to Elymus smithii in general appearance, but does not have
the strongly ridged, more or less bluish and glaucous leaves of that species and has
glumes at most slightly asymmetric.
