Euphorbia misera

A drought-deciduous, semi-succulent shrub, similar to Euphorbia californica but with pubescent fruits and stems; the pubescence of fruits, however, may be very inconspicuous. Photographed in Baja California, also occurring in extreme southern California.

Plant habit about 10 miles west of Bahia de Los Angeles, 10/21/06. A fully leafed plant can be seen in the background at left.
