Penstemon buckleyi
Similar to Penstemon fendleri, but with leafier stems. Usually in sandy areas; I've only seen it at Mescalero Sands, east of Roswell.
Plant habit at Mescalero Sands, 3/25/05. This plant had developing buds in the upper leaf axils.
