Psathyrostachys juncea

An introduced Asian grass often used for erosion control on recently-burned sites. Distinguished from similar species in the genus Leymus by having an inflorescence that shatters at maturity, whereas inflorescences of Leymus remain intact after the spikelets have fallen.
