Whitewater Canyon is on the western edge of the Mogollon Mts., and cuts through layers of volcanic tuff, breccia, and sandstone. The Catwalk National Recreational Trail goes a half-mile or so into the entrance, through a narrow and sheer-walled portion of the canyon. I visited it on the 26th of December, 2004.
