Purgatory Chasm is a small but twisting and steep-walled canyon just across the road from Lake Roberts. A loop trail a mile or so long takes you up a branch of the canyon and then back down along one of the ridges. A visit may convince you that purgatory's a nice enough place.

Apparently spelling isn't the devil's strong suit. Doesn't seem to like cars, either.

A seep on the upstream end of the chasm, 7/11/05.

One of the less chasmogamous branches of the canyon. In New Mexico we call this a stream.
